Amber Gordon received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern California and her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Irvine. She has worked in a wide variety of mental health settings, providing therapy and case management services for three years. Amber brings a versatile perspective to Multi Concept Recovery, as a majority of her experience has been with the LGBTQ+ population, children/adolescents, and young adults experiencing homelessness. Her goal when working with people is to help guide them in discovering their own power and potential. She takes a low barrier approach and strongly believes in meeting clients where they are at, while respecting their self-determination. Amber’s work is informed by critical race theory, feminist theory, and ecological systems theory. Most recently, Amber has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and looks forward to the healing power that will bring to so many lives. She has a professional and personal goal to further develop her clinical skills and is working towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
